 Retailers request upright freezers because of the small floor space required. Distributors are usually very happy with the visual the consumer gets because of vertical merchandising. We learned that upright freezers on the market had a high failure rate, this is because the mechanism that gets rid of heat would clog with dirt and cause failure. The only way to stop this from happening was to frequently clean this mechanism. This wasn’t always done and if you have many freezers in the field it becomes very costly to coordinate.
