Program graduates outstanding ag leaders in Wyo.
CASPER – A program that develops exceptional leaders in agriculture recently graduated participants from communities across the state.
Eighteen Wyoming Leadership Education and Development (L.E.A.D.) Class 11 graduates from Albin, Buffalo, Burns, Casper, Chugwater, Cody, Douglas, Evanston, Gillette, Glendo, Kaycee, Midwest, Pine Bluffs, Powell and Wheatland received their pins and graduation certificates on Jan. 8 at a ceremony in Saratoga, Wyo.
Wyoming L.E.A.D. is a 14-month adult leadership program designed to create an outstanding, highly motivated group of agricultural leaders in the state. Ag producers and agribusiness men and women are chosen for each class based upon their leadership potential.
“The L.E.A.D. program has a history of producing strong agriculture leaders for our state,” said Cindy Garretson-Weibel, director of the Wyoming Business Council’s Agribusiness Division, which oversees the program. “It is always fascinating to see the growth and transformation within each class, and I am confident Class 11 will use their new training to do great things for Wyoming’s ag industry.”

With this class, 189 individuals have graduated from the program. The Agribusiness Division is currently recruiting for L.E.A.D. Class 12, which will start in the fall.
